When you were last engulfed by a passionate tango, marveled at the technical artistry of a Latino dancer or enjoyed the ever familiar tune of "Libertango" did you ever think, who was the man behind all that music? Could you imagine, that so many familiar tunes are all attributed to the same composer?
Ástor Piazzolla (1921-1992) famously founded a new style of traditional tango music, which became known as “Nuevo Tango”. By incorporating elements of jazz and classical music into the traditional style he sparked much controversy in his native land Argentine, contesting the old local saying “In Argentina everything may change – except the tango”. However, despite the resistance he experienced at home, Piazzolla's music soon gained acceptance in Europe and North America and before long was being performed in the major concert halls worldwide.
When we set up this production in Armenia in 2008 we would hardly imagine the level of success the concert will gain. It has since traveled to Singapore in 2011 and 2012, and in 2013 was warmly received in Philippines and Malaysia.
It is a show full of unforgettable ambiance, passionate dance and astonishing melodies. All in the benefits of quality time - together with you!
